Buenos Aires - Day 2 :)
Well... back to the first night I wasnt too happy - when I unpacked discovered my shampoo had leaked all over my bag, most of it was ok as all in little pastic bags, apart from my jeans - so had to give them a wash... in my little teeny tiny room there as a double window that opened vertically (like normal windows) and a window on top of that that opened horizontally... anyway so hung stuff in front of the windows... and on the windows incl my jeans... unfortunately the top window didnt like that idea and fell on top of me!- I got a nice split bottom lip from it!
Spent yesterday wondering round B.Aires... went to the Pink Presidential Palace, down the pedestrian street and to the cemetry which was pretty impressive... and then the markets near the cemetary - I got a nice pink beanie since i couldnt find my one to pack.
Met the group last nght - few americans, canadian, irish, norway, denmark and fellow aussie - all seem pretty good. The Patagonian tour is a bit more full-on walking that what i was excecting - have a 3 day hike in one of the national parks (camping out there etc) and then a few other day walks so should be pretty good... can leave some stuff at the hotel which is good (hopefuly it is here when i come back a month later!) Will be pretty stinky after the walking tho... aparently can go from around 30 and the next thing it will be snowing! And huge winds as well, so should be an adventure! and we go across a river (wow - good with names arent I) that the big cargo shps have to use as they cant fit thru Panama canal - anyway is meant to be pretty rough with waves going over the boat etc - think that is around day 10 that we do that...
Went out to dinner with the group last night to a fancy restaurant along the waterfront - was a buffet kind of deal - absolutely stuffed... they came round with all these different kinds of meats (cooked) on swords so had to try them all (when in rome).. all pretty tasty apart from the cow neck. Everything starts off pretty late here so didnt get home til about 1... then up ready to leave at 9,30 for our flight (5hrs incl. 0,5hr stopover at Bariloche)... cañt wait- should be really beautiful out there!
Anyway better get ready to leave!
