Perfecto!
Walked into the Gallerie dei Accademia at 8.30 , definitely the time to go to beat the crowds... anyway walked into the hallway with David at the end and sunlight was streaming in thru the dome onto him, it was magical! he was bigger than i thought ~5m high... and he, just like Botticelli's Birth of venus and Spring, takes your breath away when you first catch of glance of it in real life - for me anyway... was brilliant! Also in the Uffizi is Michaelangelo's only painting -the rest were frescos... - interesting huh?
Last night in Florence tonight... have been meeting up with Sophie and Fernanda for dinners which has been good... but tomorrow is Lucca so a whole new adventure...! I have decided to to go Cinque Terre for a day trip after Lucca and so am not staying in Pisa but perhaps Le Spezia on my final night (then catch a train to Pisa on my final day to do the leaning tower and of course catch the plane back to the UK) - have to try and sort accomodation for the final night out now oh fun! (have cancelled the Pisa accomodation)...
if i was super keen now i would be walking round to go across the river esp as it is absolutely gorgeous weather - lovely blue skies... but am a bit weary! so might just go thru the market stalls again and try not to buy anything!
Have tried the local chianti and some delicious cheeses also... and of course gelatis every day nearly - yum!!!!
So dont know when i will get a chance to write again - not sure about internet in Egypt! so...
