Back in the UK

@ 11:58 AM (30 months, 4 days ago)

Well I am back - and trying to figure out what to do next :) - ohh the hassle of being on holiday! - Karen and I are thinking of going to Egypt in March so I am doing a bit of investigating about that... want to go round Cairo etc and then spend a week at the Red Sea taking it easy diving and snorkelling (how brill. does that sound!?!!!) - have been staying at Karen and Neil's place in Hither Green since I got back... then off to my Uncle's place at Cheltenham on Friday for a week... - will start doing a bit of job investigating then as well...

It was a bit of an intersting journey back to the UK - the domestic airport in St Pete was a lot better looking than the international... (dropped Pauline and Justin at the international) - of course the car had a few scary muffler problems after they got dropped off - and arrived safely at the airport - weird system - can't go thru security til just over an hour before your flight and then you check in etc... - and then in Moscow - eek - had fun getting a tranfer betwen terminals and noone to ask any questions - the information kiosk had a sign up but I couldn't find anything apart from a taxi man in his booth - so ended up paying to get a taxi as they were the only people that would talk to me - and of course half way to the terminal an airport tranfer coach passes us advertising half the cost i paid - oh well - will know for next time... and the flight was ok too... made my way on the underground to Karen's without any hassle which was good - and she met me at her station at midnight (isn't she nice - esp. since she had to work the next day) - so she got to carry home the huge canada goose jacket which i have kept hold of in case i can manage to get somewhere else cold before Egypt...

i've been taking it easy the past couple of days - cheking out Lewisham - have had a sauna (ohh that was lovely - had an aromatherapy room as well) and got shouted an Indian by Neil (cousin) and his girlfriend Lena... And I cooked my first ever vegetarian meal (for Karen) - very spiffy - created my own mexican dish :)  Am at Covent Garden today - haven't bought anything so am very proud of myself :) - pretty fun wandering around... - and going to travel agents finding out details about Egypt and Istanbul...

Later!
